TD ASILI -Tracking development history of Kenya
Information was collected in 2008 during interviews in Kenya with key decision makers and entrepreneurs. Together with that gathered from relevant literature collected over the years, the interviews provided first-hand input that was used to produce a working paper comparing important manufacturing developments in Kenya and Malaysia. Another paper was also written to show the need for thorough discussion on comparative methodology in the field concerning (arable) land availability, wage levels and investment data. The initial idea of TD was to conduct interviews with key policy makers and this was taken up by an MA student who interviewed Dutch entrepreneurs in Kenya on their motives for (dis)investment.
