Amélie van den Brink
Amélie van den Brink holds a BA in Psychology and Political Science and two MA's, one in (Clinical) Art Therapy from New York University (2013) and a Research Master’s degree in African Studies from Leiden University (2018). As a clinician she has worked in Africa, East Asia, the US, and Europe, both in the public and private sectors of mental health, including providing psychological first aid to communities affected by humanitarian crises. As a recent Africanist researcher with a specialization in the West Africa region (i.e. Sierra Leone and Burkina Faso), her research interests include exploring issues related to mental health issues in children with developmental delays, and gender and inclusion. Currentyly, she is seeking positions in the NGO sector, private sector and/or a PhD (inter)nationally.
