Guido van den Berg
I studied history at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. During my studies I focused on the Mau Mau, Eritrea, and Mozambique. I visited Africa frequently, as leader of volunteer camps in Kenya and Uganda, later as a freelance reporter. After a career at KPN (Dutch telecommunication company) I became director of the Zuid-Afrikahuis in Amsterdam. The Zuid-Afrikahuis in Amsterdam owns an extensive library on South-African literature, history and culture, has an interesting archive on Dutch-South-African relations and organizes events and debates on South-African issues (languages spoken: Afrikaans, English, Dutch).
