Nurit Hashimshony-Yaffe
Nurit Hashimshony-Yaffe holds a Ph.D. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she did her first steps in field research in Africa (Nigeria). Her research has focused on civil society and community based organisations, climate change, sustainable development in marginalised areas (as the effects of energy infrastructures on local populations in Kenya), African migration (from Eritrea and Sudan). She is looking after new sustainable economic models to finance social change and education. She is a senior lecturer and head of the Department of Political Science in the Academic College of Tel Aviv Yaffo. Nurit participates in the Erasmus+ project on Innovative Finance Inclusion and is currently part of a collaborative research project dealing with COVID-19 effects in drylands of Africa, Asia and the Middle East (coordinated by Bayreuth University).
