Olvis Dabley

A well-known figure in media and culture in Côte d’Ivoire and abroad, he is the president of the Ivorian Network of Entrepreneurs in Cultural and Creative Industries (Réseau Ivoire ICC).
With some thirty years of experience in cultural mediation, Olvis Dabley contributed to the creation of the Coco Bulles International Festival of Press Cartoons and Comics, which he directed for nearly a decade. He is the author and publisher of the saga "On Va Où Là?" (Where Are We Going?). This collection of humor, in two volumes, recounts the Ivorian crisis and twenty years of electoral irregularities in Côte d’Ivoire, through the pens of Ivorian press cartoonists and the Swiss artist Patrick Chappatte, with texts by journalist Venance Konan.
Furthermore, Olvis Dabley is the president of the NGO A Wa Gbôklè, which works to develop and promote the Gbôklè region. This region encompasses the departments of Sassandra and Fresco, in southwestern Côte d'Ivoire. In line with the NGO's mission, he wrote and published the historical essay "Kotrohou" in June 2025, thanks to the support of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This original account explores the origins of the name Côte d'Ivoire (Tand Kust), which was coined by Dutch explorers in the 17th century.
