Owebeyi James
Owebeyi James is a Uganda lawyer, environmentalist and politician born in South Western Uganda near the border of DR Congo and Rwanda. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Uganda Pentecostal University,a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice of Law Development Centre Kampala, and a Diploma in Environmental Science from Kabale University. Owebeyi is enthusiastic in qualitative research about human rights, democracy and governance in Sub-Saharan Africa. He is also interested in research on oil &gas energy and policy in the Albertine Region of East Africa. Being a politician he is a former Parliamentary Candidate for Bukimbiri County. He also successfully challenged the Parliamentary election of Bukimbiri County in the Court of Appeal of Uganda in the case: Owebeyi James Vs Electoral Commission and other EPA No 72/2021. He was a volunteer at Law Development Centre Legal Aid Clinic and is currently involved in private legal practice.
