Peter Kipng'eno Kirui
Peter Kipng'eno Kirui is historian, governance and conflict lecturer/researcher, and the immediate Head of Department of Humanities Department at University of Eldoret, Kenya. Prior to joining academia, he had a short stint (2009-2012) as a humanitarian staff with CARE International in Kenya and Windle Trust International, where he implemented education programmes at Dadaab Refugee Camps in Northeastern Kenya. He has particularly researched on host state refugee politics regarding Somali refugees in Kenya and the Kenya-Somalia relations. He is keen on applied research that seeks to identify problems and provide solutions to real life challenges facing Africa. He has a PhD in Conflict Transformation from University of KwaZulu-Natal and a Master of Governance and Development from the University of Antwerp, where he was the 2018-2019 VLIR-UOS Master Scholar. Further, he holds a Master of Arts in History and B. Ed (Arts), First Class, both from Moi University, Kenya.
