Rosemary Nakijoba
Rosemary Nakijoba is the Dean and Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities at Muteesa I Royal University, Uganda. She earned her PhD in Development Studies from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa, and holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in the same field from Uganda Martyrs University and Ndejje University, Uganda. Rosemary has received prestigious fellowships, including the Doctoral Fellowship from the Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences (NIHSS), South Africa, and the Doctoral Proposal Development Fellowship from the Social Sciences Research Council (SSRC), New York. She has also received research grants with the University of Nairobi through the African Peacebuilding Network of the SSRC. Currently, she is a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, UK (2024/2025). Her research interests include Disability Justice, Climate Justice, Gender and Culture, Human Rights, and Sustainable Development. Rosemary has significant consulting experience at local, regional, and international levels.
