Tayo Eegunlusi
Tayo Raymond Ezekiel Eegunlusi, PhD, is a scholar and researcher with over two decades of university teaching experience. He began his lecturing career at Ambrose Alli University's Langtang Outreach Centre in 2000. Eegunlusi holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy (B.A. Hons) from the University of Ado Ekiti (Now Ekiti State University), Nigeria, and Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Philosophy from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Currently, he teaches philosophy and mentors undergraduate students at the Department of General Studies, Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Nigeria. At the postgraduate level, Eegunlusi serves as a Senior Researcher and academic mentor at the Institute of Technology-Enhanced Learning and Digital Humanities (INTEDH), FUTA. As one of the institute's pioneers, he played a key role in designing INTEDH's curriculum and served as its first Postgraduate Programmes Coordinator and the first Secretary of its Postgraduate Board. He was subsequently appointed as the Head of the Department of General Studies by FUTA.
For a deeper understanding of the impact of the Trans-Atlantic, Trans-Sahara, Red Sea and Indian Ocean slave trades and colonialism on Africa, he participated in "A Short Professional Development Course in African History Through the Lens of Economics (February 11th - April 13th, 2022)", an eleven weeks programme organised by the Wheeler Institute for Business and Development, London Business School and was awarded a letter of completion.
He has since then been involved in the knowledge activities of the Wheeler Institute, especially its webinar series and research activities. Combined with other experiences, the insights garnered have enhanced his teaching, research and community development activities.
With academic interests in ethics and social and political issues, by engaging in argumentation, logical reasoning, and historical analysis, Eegunlusi has explored issues in social and political philosophy, ethics, and the philosophy of the global economic order. He has made his contributions through critical dialogues and innovative researches and, currently, he pioneers new research directions in ethics and social and political philosophy, with a focus on the intersections between ethics, scientific reasoning, and technological advancements, particularly in the context of emerging trends in environmental philosophy, security ethics, social justice and morality.
