Apply for the (Research) Master African Studies 2025-2026

Apply for the Master or Research Master in African Studies at Leiden University! The Research Master is unique in continental Europe for its interdisciplinary approach and the six-months fieldwork in Africa or an Africa-related setting elsewhere. The Master is an advanced area studies qualification that combines leading Africanist scholarship with practice-based learning, including a ten-weeks embedded research project with a societal organisation in Africa or an Africa-related setting elsewhere.

=> Applicants who need a visa or residence permit or need to extend their residence permit must apply for admission before 1 April.
=> All other applicants must apply for admission before 15 May.
