Prof. Chibuike Uche was interviewed by Belgian magazine Knack about Nigeria's and the wider continent's economic development. He speaks candidly about the African Union ('an organisation that has its headquarters built by the Chinese can't defend African interests'), the European Union ('one really has to explain to me why the EU sees free trade as the solution for everything, but not for agriculture') and development aid ('hasn't played any role in the economic development of Africa'), and has strong ideas about transferring power to Nigeria's regions.
