What has ethnography's role been in producing these icons? And how, in turn, are these images used by the 'iconised' peoples themselves in promoting/ constructing their 'culture'? These will be among the topics discussed during the ASC seminar. Agnès Pataux auteur-photographe indépendante vit et travaille à Paris. This event is a joint initiative of the African Studies Centre and the Department of Cultural Antropology/Development Sociology, Leiden University. If you have any questions, ask the initiator of this seminar Lianne Holten (LHolten@fsw.leidenuniv.nl). |
