Mirjam de Bruijn on Leiden University website about influence of social media on coup in Niger

Mirjam de Bruijn was interviewed for the Leiden University website about the role of social media in the recent coup d'etat in Niger. In the interview she explains that many pro-Russian posts are being shared on X (former Twitter) by West African influencers, thereby adding fuel to the fire. 'There are influencers on Facebook giving online classes where people listen to. By this way lots of disinformation is being spread" De Bruijn says.
