New web dossier update: Asante Kingdom

In 2024 the Asante in Ghana commemorate the 150^th anniversary of the Sagrenti War, and celebrate the 25^th anniversary of the enstoolment of king Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. During this special year, a number of artefacts looted or extorted by the British during the colonial wars were returned to the royal family at the Manhyia Palace Museum in Ghana.

On this occasion the Library of the African Studies Centre has updated its 2002 web dossier about the Asante Kingdom. It was originally published at the tercentenary of diplomatic relations between Ghana and the Netherlands, and remained popular ever since.
