The University of Edinburgh’s Centre of African Studies hosted the 8th European Conference on African Studies, Europe’s largest and most international conference with an African focus. It took place in the University's central campus from 11-14 June and was organised on behalf of the Research Network of African Studies Centres in Europe AEGIS. With about 250 panels and up to 1500 attendants, the conference was a huge success. This year's theme was Africa: Connections and Disruptions. About thirty researchers from the ASCL/Leiden University organized a panel, presented a paper or launched a new book.
