African Dynamics
Building on Agenda 2063 and the SDGs the African Dynamics minor fosters a deeper understanding of integrated and sustainable development approaches in Africa. Courses offered by leading Africanists from the universities of Leiden, Delft and Rotterdam combine knowledge and expertise in diverse fields to depict Africa from different perspectives, with an emphasis on how Africans themselves view their continent and the world. The African Studies Centre Leiden Library functions as a hub of this knowledge. More information on the course programme and application procedure can be found in Leiden University's e-prospectus.
Frugal Innovation for Sustainable Global Development
Overexploitation and unsustainable use of resources leads to resource destruction, including extinctions, environmental degradation and climate change. To overcome these threats, frugal innovations combine the sparingly use of global and local resources while maintaining and/or improving affordability, basic functionalities and an optimised performance. The minor Frugal Innovation for Sustainable Global Development offers an in-depth insight into how and under which conditions these innovations can be accomplished and contribute to sustainable global development. As frugal innovation demands an interdisciplinary approach, this minor combines the unique knowledge and expertise of lecturers and students from the universities of Leiden, Delft and Rotterdam. More information on the course programme and application procedure can be found in Leiden University's e-prospectus.
