Stephen Ellis about the ANC in Mail&Guardian
ASC researcher Stephen Ellis wrote a comment in South African newspaper Mail & Guardian called 'ANC suppresses real history to boost its claim to legitimacy'. Nelson Mandela's membership of the Central Committee of the South African Communist Party (SACP) was finally admitted by the SACP shortly after Mandela died, he writes. Ellis states that knowledge about South Africa's past has been suppressed for too long.
