Tycho van der Hoog and Marleen Dekker in Mare about the impossibility to do fieldwork abroad

ASCL PhD candidate Tycho van der Hoog was interviewed by Leiden Univeristy weekly Mare about the impossibility to do fieldwork in Africa, even after some restrictions to so were lifted earlier in 2021. All of his applications to do fieldwork in Namibia were disapproved of by the university board. ASCL director Marleen Dekker calls for a more nuanced approach in the assessment of travel applications.
