Tycho van der Hoog in VPRO's podcast "Achter de Frontlinie"

Former ASCL PhD candidate Tycho van der Hoog was recently interviewed by VPRO journalist Bram Vermeulen for the podcast Achter de Frontlinie. His research at ASCL focused on North Korea’s relations with Southern Africa—a decade-long project that took him to 13 countries, where he explored archives and spoke with North Korean exiles. In this episode, Tycho sheds light on North Korea’s global connections and challenges long-standing Western misconceptions about the country, dating back to the Cold War.
