Jayron Habibe

Jayron Habibe is a communications officer at the African Studies Centre Leiden (ASCL). He organises events, such as the ASCL Seminars, manages social media channels, works on the annual report, and updates the ASCL website.

Jayron obtained both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biomedical sciences at Leiden University. He subsequently completed his PhD at the Amsterdam UMC, where his research focused on “The emerging role of FHL2 in metabolism”.

He also co-hosts The Struggling Scientists podcast and video series, in which he and his co-host discuss helpful advice for in and outside of academia, useful information about AI tools in academia, and advice to make your research life less of a struggle.
