Maarten Mous
Maarten Mous is professor of African linguistics at Leiden university in the Centre for Linguistics. On teaching relief (sabbatical) from his department, he will spend time at the ASCL in the framework of the Leiden ASA research leave arrangement. During his stay, he intends to finish articles on African Urban Youth languages, overview articles on the effects of contact between languages in Africa, and one on the grammatical category of number in Cushitic languages of East Africa. He also has to finish an online course on grammar writing that he developed in cooperation with the Universities of Dakar and Malawi.
