Abdurrahim Siradag
Dr. Abdurrahim Sıradağ is a faculty member in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University since 2021. Dr. Sıradağ completed his bachelor’s degree in international relations at Sakarya University (Türkiye) in 2006. He received his master’s degree from the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Johannesburg (South Africa) in 2009, and his PhD from the Institute of Political Science at Leiden University in 2012. He previously served as a faculty member in the Department of International Relations at the International University of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) between 2011 and 2016, and in the Department of Global Studies at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (Saudi Arabia) from 2016 to 2020.
His academic work has been published in leading international journals such as the Journal of Asian and African Studies, African Security Review, and Insight on Africa. His primary research interests include Turkey-Africa relations, Gulf-Africa relations, China-Africa relations, as well as South Africa and Somalia. In his scholarly research, Dr. Sıradağ particularly focuses on the question of why strategic actors in Africa develop complex, multi-layered, and multidimensional relationships with the continent.
