Jetu Chewaka

Dr. Jetu Edosa Chewaka is an Assistant Professor of Law at the School of Law, Addis Ababa University, where he has been teaching since 2016. He holds a Ph.D. in Law (2025) and an LL.M. in Business Law (2014) from Addis Ababa University, as well as an LL.B. from Mekelle University (2008).

His teaching and research interests span business and human rights issues, globalization and labor rights, capital markets law, natural resource regulation—particularly water and land law—as well as restorative justice and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Over the past sixteen years, he has published more than fifteen scholarly works, including book chapters and peer-reviewed articles in leading journals such as the Journal of Ethiopian Law, Oromia Law Journal, Journal of Water Law, African Journal of Legal Studies, and Mizan Law Review.

Dr. Jetu is also the founding Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Ethiopian Legal Studies (University of Gondar, School of Law). He currently serves as Executive Vice Dean for Research and Academic Affairs at the Addis Ababa University School of Law.
