Titus Ogalo Pacho
Dr Titus Ogalo Pacho is a Senior Lecturer of Philosophy of Education at Kisii University in Kenya. He is trained as an educationist and holds a PhD in Educational Science from the University of Hamburg in Germany. Dr Pacho's research is interdisciplinary and analyses the role of innovative approaches in improving the quality and effectiveness of the educational process. The focus of his work is on higher education, critical pedagogy, service-learning, citizenship, internationalisation, academia-industry collaboration, and teacher education.
Dr Pacho has organised several international events, including conferences on education for sustainable development, and repositioning education in changing times, seminars on teacher professionalism and professional development practices, pedagogy of the 21st century, democratic classroom, and intercultural communication. Furthermore, he has collaborated in several international projects in Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Germany, The Netherlands, Finland and the USA on global citizenship education, service-learning, creativity and peacebuilding, virtual internships, and student mobility. From 2018 to 2019, Dr Pacho was the Departmental Coordinator of research, quality assurance, conferences and collaborations at St. Augustine University of Tanzania. In 2018, he was a Visiting Fellow at the African Studies Centre Leiden. In 2019, he was a Visiting Researcher at the Centre for Global Challenges at Utrecht University. He is the coordinator for collaboration between Kisii University and higher education institutions in Finland.
