This presentation draws on Pedro Pombo's ongoing research as a LeidenASA ASC-IIAS fellow that aims to situate the contemporary presence of Africa in India through three main locations: the (in)visible presence of diverse Afro-Indian communities, the production of African prints by Indian textile companies and art projects that critically approach the recent violence faced by African migrants in the country.

The 8th European Conference on African Studies (ECAS 2019), to be held in Edinburgh 12-14 June 2019, invites the submission of panel proposals addressing the theme of 'Africa: Connections and Disruptions'. Panels and papers representing all disciplines and methodological approaches of the Social Sciences and Humanities are welcomed. The call for panels is now open and will close on 14 November.

To mark the 50th anniversary of Equatorial Guinea's independence (from Spain) the ASCL Library has compiled a web dossier on Equatorial Guinea. The dossier consists of selected titles from the ASCL Library Catalogue, extended with sources available through the UBL Catalogue.
