Article in Jeune Afrique about Klaas van Walraven's research into the 1974 Niger putsch
Jeune Afrique wrote an article about Klaas van Walraven's research into the 1974 putsch in Niger by Lt-Col. Seyni Kountché. The putsch led to the fall of President Hamani Diori. The French were accused of involvement, however, Van Walraven discovered that not only were the French not involved in the putsch, they actually started up measures for an airborne operation to save Diori, if not reinstall him.
