Conference on fifty years of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States

On Friday 6 June 2025, the CRG Governance, Entrepreneurship, and Inclusive Development Research Group at the African Studies Centre Leiden will hold a one-day conference to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Organisation of the African, Caribbean, and Pacific States.

This conference will take place on the premises of the African Studies Centre, Leiden University.

Call for papers

The organizers of the conference invite paper presentation proposals from scholars, diplomats, and business practitioners who are interested in the evolution, operations, and activities of the OACPS  in the last fifty years. Proposals relating to the exploration of past and present African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) - European Economic Community (EEC) Agreements and the political economy of North-South relations are also welcome. For persons intending to present papers, we request paper abstracts of not more than 1500 words (excluding references).

The deadline for the submission of these abstracts is 15 April 2025.
Successful candidates will be notified of the outcome no later than 20 April 2025.
