PhD defence Liévain Mwangal Mpalang’a-Maruv
On 10 December at 10:00 CET, Liévain Mwangal Mpalang’a-Maruv will defend his dissertation Musumb et ses empereurs face aux puissances coloniales (XVIIe-XXe siècle): un laboratoire historique des villes et des pouvoirs en Afrique centrale.
Liévain Mwangal Mpalang’a-Maruv's field of research is the Social and Cultural History of Central Africa. His thesis focuses on Musumb, a pre-colonial city and capital of the former Lunda Empire in Central Africa. It seeks to understand in a specific way the past of the city of Musumb through the reigns of different emperors who succeeded to the throne during the pre-colonial, colonial and postcolonial period.
This defence will be held in French.
