Gabriel Botchwey

Dr Gabriel Botchwey is an Associate Professor with specialisation in Politics and International Studies, Development and Law. During his Visiting Fellowship at the African Studies Centre Leiden, he will focus on youth employment and entrepreneurship. Hisother ongoing research activities include marine plastics legislation, funding of politics and natural resource governance. Dr Botchwey has a  PhD in Politics and International Studies from the University of Leeds (UK); a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from the International Institute of Social Studies (The Hague), ERASMUS University Rotterdam, Netherlands; and a Law Degree from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. He is scheduled to graduate with an LLM in Ocean Governance and Law from the University of Ghana in early 2025. He is a professionally trained teacher (higher education), and he is passionate about teaching and research.
