Chris AC-Ogbonna
Dr. Chris AC-Ogbonna is an erudite scholar from Uburu in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. He is an economist and a policy analyst and began his academic career as a lecturer in economics during his compulsory national youth service corps (NYSC) at the Rivers State Polytechnic Bori in 1998 and completion of his national youth service scheme joined BusinessDay Media Ltd Lagos and later moved to the Veritas University Abuja in 2009. Dr Chris AC-Ogbonna is currently a senior lecturer and researcher at the Department of Economics, Phoenix University Agwada Nasarawa State Nigeria.
Dr. Chris AC-Ogbonna attended the St. John Catholic Primary School Yahe in the defunt Ogoja from 1979 to 1984 and later proceeded to the prestigious Mary Knoll College Ogoja Cross River State from 1984 to 1990 and due to his thirst for knowledge and determined to deepen his knowledge and understanding, he proceeded further to acquire University education where he earned B.Sc, M.Sc, and Ph.D in Economics from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, University of Port Harcourt, and the University of Calabar respectively, with a specialization in Economic Development. Additionally, he holds a postgraduate Advance Certificate in Education from Veritas University Abuja, Nigeria.
He is a fellow of the Africa Science Leadership Program of the Future Africa Institute, University of Pretoria South Africa, a member of the Directorate of Research and International Linkages at Veritas University Abuja. He is also a member of the Nigeria Economic Society, the National Association for Energy Economics, the West African Green Economics Development Institute and an Associate Research Fellow at the African Heritage Institutions, Enugu Nigeria. Chris AC-Ogbonna is an active member of various organizations. He is the Vice chairman of the Veritas university catholic chaplaincy pastoral council, staff adviser of the Nigeria Economics Students Association Veritas University Abuja, staff adviser Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo students Association, Veritas University Abuja and the current head of the department of Economics of the Phoenix University Agwada Nasarawa State Nigeria.
Dr. Chris AC-Ogbonna is a researcher with over 15 years of scholarship experience. He is a academic mentor who has made contribution to expanding the pool of indigenous scholars and professionals in the field of Economics. His scholarly influence also extends to his research endeavors with over forty-five academic articles published in reputable local and peer reviewed international journals to his credit, along with book chapters, he has also reviewed more than twenty articles for high WOS impact factor journals, served on the editorial board of an international journal, and has participated as a panel member in international conferences. His research focuses on macroeconomic policy and development economics. AC-Ogbonna has also delivered several papers in local, national and international platforms on leadership and economic sustainability and involvement in collaborative research projects with the Rivers Network of Non-Governmental Organizations, particularly the EU-ACT funded initiative in Rivers State, Nigeria In the course of his scholarship, Dr. Chris AC-Ogbonna has a very strong academic, administrative and management leadership experience in university administration and has actively served on various university committees.
Dr. Chris AC-Ogbonna has won several commendation and awards of excellence from the Nigeria Economics Students Association, Veritas University Chapter, Ohanaeze Ndigbo students association Veritas University chapter, Ministers of hospitality from the Veritas University Catholic chaplaincy for his contributions to the economic development and support to the associations.
